Nah Ming Branding & Menu Layout Design
Concept
The name "Nah Ming," a clever play on the phrase "Know what I mean?" perfectly encapsulates the fusion of old and new that's at the core of this concept. This project is a perfect synergy of honoring Chinese heritage while infusing it with contemporary flair. Nah Ming Branding & Menu Layout Design represents a visual journey through the rich tapestry of Chinese culture, and I am proud to have been a part of bringing this concept to life. It's a testament to how design can bridge the gap between tradition and modernity, creating a unique and memorable brand identity that leaves a lasting impression.
Logo Design
The heart of this design concept is the hand-drawn dragon, a symbol of power, strength, and wisdom in traditional Chinese culture. I meticulously sketched the dragon's intricate details, ensuring it resonated with authenticity and cultural significance. This hand-drawn masterpiece was then transformed into a vector illustration using Illustrator, allowing for scalability and versatility in various design applications.
The Nah Ming logo was a particular highlight of the project. The typography, inspired by the elegant curves of a low Ming-style table, encapsulates the brand's essence. It gracefully marries the contemporary with the classical, evoking a sense of timeless sophistication. The logo's fluid lines and balanced proportions create a harmonious and inviting visual identity, setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience.
Packaging Visual Design
In addition to the logo, I meticulously designed a range of ornaments and patterns inspired by traditional Chinese motifs. The dragon and cloud patterns, which grace the menu layout and other branding materials, not only pay homage to Chinese artistry but also infuse the design with energy and vitality. These patterns not only add visual interest but also evoke a sense of movement and dynamism, making the brand truly come alive.
Menu Layout Design
The menu layout design, in particular, was a labor of love. It seamlessly blends the dragon and cloud patterns with elegant typography, creating a cohesive and visually captivating menu that is both informative and artistic. The menu becomes an experience in itself, enticing diners with a sense of anticipation and excitement.
Brand Collateral
Website and Social Media: The website and social media profiles are designed to reflect the brand’s vibrant and playful aesthetic, with high-quality imagery, engaging content, and a cohesive visual identity that tells Nahm’ing’s story.
Merchandise: Branded merchandise such as t-shirts, reusable chopsticks, bamboo bowls, and tote bags feature the logo and key design elements, creating a cohesive and culturally rich brand experience.
Marketing Materials: Promotional items, brochures, and in-store displays use the same vibrant design language to ensure a consistent and appealing brand presence across all touchpoints.
